Boots OOTW 18/12/09

I was calculating this at the time Nicole posted, and I've come up with a slightly different value. I've quoted the prices I got from the Boots website, but I am not infallible, so I may have made a mistake!


These are the prices I got a minute ago from the website:

Sexy Mother Pucker 7ml £8.00 (the one in the set is a Limited Edition though)
Daily Smooth 250ml £8.00
Greatest Scrub of All 125ml £7.87
Butter Up 200ml £7.50
I-Foam 200ml £4.50
Clean On Me 75ml £2.25
Flake Away 50ml £2.25
Hand Food 50ml £2.25

There are three items in the set in non-retail sizes:

Girligo 100ml would cost £2.40 (based on 250ml being £6.00)
Hair Supply 50ml would cost £1.50 (based on 200ml being £6.00)
Clean Mary 75ml would cost £2.45 (based on 180ml being £5.88)

A soap and Glory shower puff is £3.49 but as the drawstring bag and box are not sold separately, I can't price those.


So, for the set, excluding the drawstring bag and box, I reckon the retail price of the contents would be £52.46

However, S&G is on 3-for-2, so, taking that into account...

Firstly, using the values of the products in the non-retail sizes:

8.00+8.00 with 7.87 free = 16
+7.50+4.50 with 3.49 free = 28
+2.45+2.40 with 2.25 free = 32.85
+2.25+2.25 with 1.50 free = 37.35

Meaning total price for all items (excl. bag and box) on 3-for-2 = £37.35

But, as 3 of the items can't be bought in the sizes that are in the set, to get those items would mean having to buy larger sizes, so the calculation becomes:

8+8 with 7.87 free = 16
+7.50+6 with 6 free = 29.50
+6+5.88 with 4.50 free = 41.38
+2.25+2.25 with 2.25 free = 45.88


So the total price for the set, minus the bag and box, but with full size Girligo, Hair Supply and Clean Mary would be £45.88

So, in conclusion... not really a good deal for £50, but a saving of around £17 on the (3-for-2) retail price at £20.

I hope this is clear enough - frankly my eyes are spinning in my head now!

I never took into account 3 for 2, silly me
Also the hair supply and clean mary are both £2.25 instore.
I've brought them previously.

Haha me and my sister got one each and have just been sat here calculating the cost. Glad were not the only ones doing this!

On the Boots website - I can't see anything that says overall it's on 3-for-2, but if you look at an individual item most say "3 for 2 on selected Soap and Glory".

I think it may be in store too, but I've kinda lost track to be honest.

I got my S&G hatbox this morning :jMy oh went for me and stood in the que with women arguing and snatching from each other :eek:

I was buying it with some xmas money from my Dad but when my oh came back he wanted to pay for it instead because he hasn't got me anything for under the tree on xmas morning (he already bought me a lovely coat last month) I had to agree after all the madness he went through to get it Can't wait for next friday now!!!

Not sure if I actually posted befor but he said that the manager told another customer there'd be more tomorrow morning Speke, Liverpool. I've read a few posts that say theres no more stock so this isn't 100% but I hope everyone that tries tomorrow can get theirs.
