Child Maintenance Overpayment

Hi,

I got a letter from CSA 24th June 2009 telling me I had a refund of £83.72 [overpayment] no money came so rang and was told that it could take up to 3 months to come through.

Even though if I do not pay, they will take me to court within 7 days!

Rang every month since still no money.

Has anyone EVER! got a refund if so how long did it take? how did they go about getting it?

Did you have to dress as Batman and hang off a bridge somewhere?

Thanks

Kev

    Hi

    Typical of them.

Contact your MP's office and ask the assistant to phone the Parliamentary hotline to sort the matter out. Then ask the assistant to put in a letter of complaint. You can email the assistant with your letter and they can send it on to the CSA. Best to start creating a a paper trail.

Bloody cheek eh?!! Talk about them not following their own rules!!! It's your money !!!!!! I would defo echo Sensey's advice and get the MP involved.

Btw - dressing up, although encouraged, is not essential for forum joining in;)

I thought over payments were refunded by way of reducing the due CS or reduced at the next schedule

If you owe nothing and they owe you the £83.72 ask them to take you court .:rotfl:

I have had years of incompetance from them and would love a day in court with them again
  • Hi

Yes we got a cheque out of the blue saying we had overpaid, yippee we thought but oh how naive we were. two days later got another letter saying we were in arrears of over 3k!! Oh how we laughed (not).

So on one hand yes they gave us a refund but on the other they take away (and more)

Occasionally they'll send out a cheque. I've had a couple over the years.
