Westacott have bought this debt from Provident for a nominal amount with the intention of collecting the entire amount from you. Its one of the ways they make a profit.
It won't just go away and they may be adding their own charges to it.
You need to contact one of the 3 FREE debt charities or read more posts on this site in order to come up with a repayment plan. Debtfree wannabees is a good place to start!

  • Hi With regards to Wescott they have no right to call at your home. Only the Postman does under royal charter. You can tell them politely to go away or get lost.
Never speak to them on the phone, Always do it in writing -that way you have a paper trail.
Send off for your CCA1974 request- this costs £1.00 PO send recorded.
What this does is to make them send you the original credit agreement. I bet they don't have it! They have by law 12+2 working days to comply.
If they don't then place account in dispute. This means that until they send you a proper legible agreement that you signed (not an application form) then you can withhold payment.
Chances are they won't go to court as the judge would not be impressed with Providents high interest rates.
    Hope this helps.

    What...that is totally wrong.
A judge would not think this way about a legitimate company (regardless of whether you believe it is or not).

This will certainly not go away if ignored.
