Regardless of the "nitty bitty" arguments, the fact remains that wealth is only created by producing and saving not by borrowing and consuming.

We live in a global economy and the people that do that win.

    Debt is not wealth.

yeah guess who completed a first class degree in manufacturing engineering in 1992 just as the last recession hit and manufacturing was killed off in this country. never been able to find any job in manufacturing, it really is dead forever now.
I totally relate to this mate.

I did a robotics degree in the 80s, but I got out of manufacturing at the end of that decade.

I know that the Puma robot which was my charge is now consigned to the scrapheap, along with the large advanced manufacturing site which employed 3,000 people.

How come you didn't go off aboard?

Lots of engineers I know who stayed in the profession have worked aboard for some period.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p
