Those are "refurbished" models, but I have ordered two and they are brand new, complete with all accessories, user manual and test ink and paper. The box was just very slighly damaged, but still very suitable as a gift, and I could have had a similar box from a shop.
They come with a Canon warranty of 1 year, and there is a return policy if you don't like what you have received (best to call their customer support, as email responses are very slow). If the item is in poor condition, they will arrange for City Link to collect the item for free, so the risk of losing money is very limited.
The CP760 is an amazing tiny photo printer, using dye sublimation, instead of inkjet, and this makes a GREAT deal of difference. I have tested the printers, and the prints are as good as from a lab (can't see dots, very bright colours, glossy paper, protective layer), and come at a cost of around 28p each (paper + ink), which is higher than a lab, but not too expensive for printing at home.
Check the very positive customer reviews on Amazon.com for this product: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-SELPHY-Compact-Printer-2565B001/product-reviews/B0019I1K0G/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1
