HELP please with a mortgage.....

hello, im 24 been on incapacity benefit for the last 5 years on the higher rate and also recive disability living allowence high rate mobility and low rate care..
me and my girlfriend are looking into getting a mortgage she works full time on roughly £12,000 a year.
i am just wondering if we would be able to get a joint mortgage, or would she have to get a mortgage her self? or does my benefits help im clueless thanks dean....

Some lenders will take some benefits in to account.
Whether they do or not, you should be able to be jointly named on a mortgage. Afterall, a non-earning housewife can be named on a mortgage.
To get the best idea of what you can borrow I would strongly suggest that you see a reputable local mortgage broker who knows the wider market.
This meeting will give you a better idea as to what you can or can't afford and how much (10%-15% deposit plus fees) you will need in savings to get the ball rolling.
A mix of low income and benefits isn't always the right one to buy a house with. While it is a fine aspiration don't rule out renting as a short-medium term option.0
