Why cant I get a loan with good credit

I have applied to the Post Office and Sainsburys for a £2,000 loan to be paid back over 1 year and have been refused- my credit score is excellent according to Experian, and I dont know why I am getting refused?
Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi,
could be a number of things... eg not on the voters roll, number of recent searches, do you have a landline, how long in job, balances of existing credit commitments, any previous missed (or late) payments....

Lending is very tight these days even to those with excellent credit score.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
