on the taxi thing, could you contact Access to Work via the job centre and see if you could get any funding towards the taxis - it would depend on the extent of your disability and the fact the taxis are essential for you to keep the job?
Might be worth a phone call to ask them to put you in touch with their Disability Employment Advisor.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
The taxi's are A2W. The amount in my contribution. Otherwise it would be around £100 p/w.
I'm also selling as what I can on either ebay and amazon.
I need to be a member of my local CU to get a loan, which I'm not, and paying money to get a loan sounds a bit wrong really.0 -
I'm refusing point blank to reduce my hours until I get told to by a doctor, although my manager would prefer I did cut my hours. I had a health prob this year which caused me to miss almost 3 months of work. I'm 25, so would rather be able to get WTC, and I'm not sure how much I can benefit from HB if I did reduce my hours.
On a slightlty brighter note, spoke to CT peeps this morn, they are going to cut my payments to around £99 p/m over 3 months, so that's slightly easier.
That's good news about the Council Tax - every little helps, as Tesco might say. Does that include the Council Tax benefit that you said you were eligible for?
Your attitude on work hours/ tax credits is good. If you have a hobby that could be viewed as a non-profitable business that can count towards your hours. At age 25 you will qualify at 30 hours per week (I know you knew that).0 -

You already pay money for your existing loans - you pay interest, which the bank works out to get it's profit from you. Credit Unions get you to save with them as part of trying to get you out of the debt cycle. You are making savings with them, not paying additional fees. Yes the Credit Union will charge interest too, but they are not a bad option to consider.
