I went through a bad stage a little while ago and got myself into debt! I am now almost out of it and have paid off most of it with out getting any CCJ's i am paying off my last 2 debts now.
The trouble is I need to get money together quick for a deposit for a flat/house or i am going to be homeless! I have grown up a lot since i got myself into debt and am now very good with money. i can't seem to get a loan and dont know what to do next.
Does any one know if the government will be able to help me, i have worked for as long as i have been able to and have always paid my tax so you think they would be able to help me somewhere. Although my friends mum just got turned down for a crisis loan for a car which she needed to keep her job, which if she lost she would have to start claiming benefits again (including her rent) which would be more than a car and they still declined her.
i can't borrow money off family either. Does any one have any ideas?

Check your credit rating on creditexpert.co.uk (free sign up but make sure you cancel within 30 days) - that should give you an idea of where you can borrow to get a deposit - otherwise it is going to be a case of looking in papers for a room to rent until you can save up enough for a deposit.
No expert, but guess you could try talking to your council about a deposit loan if you are literally going to be homeless?
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Hello there
so sorry to hear of your issues and hope it all resolves very soon.
I have no knowledge in this area but many on here have.
I would also call in at your local CAB, they can also help in regards of the homeless situation, and have contacts to make sure you will not be left in this lurch with nowhere to go.
There are ways around this, so do contact or better still call in at your local CAB, tell them its urgent and something needs to be done for as soon as possible.
If you can, please let us know how you get on.
Is there anyone that can take you in until your housed perhaps, a good mate? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

your council may offer a social deposit loan, its to help you get a property with a private rather than social landlord. Ask your local council.0

You could try your local credit union for a loan for a deposit if you could afford the repayments?Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
