Calories is the kcal number
Cheese is, by its nature, pretty high fat!

There can be easily 205 calories in a piece of cheese - hence why its recommended very small quantities in your diet.Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0

eeeeeeeeek so 50g with a jacket is a bit much then, my god i go through a 400g slab in a couple of days0

Cheese is very bad !! Unfortanatly aswell is one of my vices...I love it but try not to eat alot to avoid turning into a big fat Umpa Lumpa0

I go for smaller amounts of very strong cheddar so the taste is there without the quantity. I also grate it with the small side of the grater - I know its the same amount but it just looks like far more this way.0

If you go low carb, you can eat quite a lot of cheese.
1 kilojoule equals approx 240 calories. It's the kcal amount you need to look at if you're calorie counting.0 -

50 grams isn't actually far of the right amount- (if your a normal healthy person- that is all your having on the jacket isn't it? ie no/not more then 5-10 grams of butter )
Its an OK amount, calorie wise OK for a source of protein, just don't eat it every day as its higher in fat and salt and so not best suited to every day eating.
A portion of chicken could be anything from 150 to 250calories so its not so bad if the calories are what your worrying about. A steak could be anything up to 500 calories.
A portion of cabohydrates (potatos, bread, pasta rice etc) could be anything around 200 to 500 calories depending on what you have. 204 calories of cheese is not alot really!0 -
I've cut out full fat cheese and replaced it with low fat cottage cheese. Along with my exercise regime and a healthy diet, after just 2 weeks i'm already on the way to a six-pack, lol.
I have to say cheese, mayonnaise and beer = the devil.
It's quite easy to work out the % of fat. Most foods should label the fat content in grams per 100 grams (normally). So if a food contains 66grams of fat per 100 grams then it means it's 66% fat. More importantly you should look at the 'of which saturates part', as saturated fat is REALLY BAD! whereas in moderation some fats (as in most nuts for example) are actually 'good fats'. Merry Christmas.
As I'm aware (as far as food labelling goes) kcal means the same as calories. So for example 320kcal means 320 calories in most cases.Instigated terrorism the road to dictatorship.0 -
I'm another grater of cheese. It really does look a lot more like that especially if sprinkled over a salad.0
