MM - i was only suggesting that moneysupermarket and moneyfacts make good research tools. i feel it is important that people should carry out their own research - if i hadn't done my own research i wouldn't have found the nationwide mortgage. not sure why BOTH brokers didn't offer it to me...would it be a question of commission rates payable?

my friend was approched by a company like this, however when she asked me to sit in and explain what the advisor was telling her. the advisor got very defensive and eventually became slightly aggressive due to me asking questions relating to charges and the actual mortgage offer, he told her that the only martgage she would qualify for was for somebody with bad credit and wanted to charge her 2% above normal lending rates. and the fees where around £3500.00. she had never defaulted or had credit problems. she ended up going to Cheltenham & Glouster who gave a great deal. i would think twice before signing up to any agreement. there is plenty of advise out their from high street lenders.
i am not saying this company is making excessive charges however i would be cautious.
