Superdrug do a very cheap bio soak or pre-wash powder. Soak, soak, soak, is my motto. Also you could try the trick of letting the machine fill, then switch off for an hour before doing the washing???
Stardrops - all purpose cleaner (Sainsburys, Morrisons - dead cheap)
Napisan - spesh for nappies, good stain remover, but a tad expensive.
PS I also sometimes use that Ace bleach for stain removing, but I transfer it to a spray bottle, makes it much more economical to use..Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

stardrops is like the product of the moment :rotfl: seriously it lasts ages and it cheap too ,i get mine from wilkinsons but morrisons and some asdas / sainsburys / savers etc sell it too
you can use it in a spray bottle with water ,or in hot water for general cleaning ,like i say I add to the washing machine too.fab with a microfibre cloth on windows / mirrors too
some even use it in the dishwasher or in the sink instead of washing up liquid
you have to look here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=172073&highlight=stardrops for all its other many uses

I think Mr Tesco must use this site! I found Stardrops for the first time at Tesco Extra this week - only 2 left on the shelf @ 58p0

I have bought some stardrops today, and am going to try it alongside some biol washing powder I borrowed from my mum to try. Thanks for all your replies except the one saying they bought their stardrops at tescos for 58p. I have just got back for sainsburys and have paid 75p for some. Hey Ho!

its 58p in wilkos too but it depends on the store as to whether you can get it there
i find sainsburys more expensive for most things compared to the likes of tesco and asda !!!
still 75p for a big bottle that can do so many tasks is a good buy IMO
mine lasts me ages and i use it for loads of things0
