Agency problem

I've got a bit of an issue and I'm not sure whether I should just leave it or whether I should address it.
I've worked through one agency for a while, the are a small firm but have been absolutely brilliant. I did one assignment which unfortunately came to an end as it was cover for someone who was on long term sick and they returned. I have received an absolutely glowing reference from the company with regards to my performance etc.
Agency two I'd done a few odd days here and there for before I joined agency one, they are a big national agency but have had lots of problems with them with regard to providing me incorrect details for assignment, pay issues, poor attitudes from the recruitment staff....I could go on.
Both agency one and two contacted me about an ongoing temporary assignment. As agency one contacted me first I said yes to them, but declined agency two stating as the other agency were putting me forward it wouldn't look good on myself.
I got the job and have been in there for nearly two weeks, had a call from my agency tonight to say feedback from the employer is great, but apparently agency two had phoned up the employer and obviously fished about who got the job, then made a few remarks about them having "issues" with me (have no idea what these issues are meant to be)
Now obviously I'm concerned as I do not want these comments to spoil my chances.
Would you do anything about these comments or would you just carry on as you are?

I would call agency two and put a complaint in.0

If agency 2 came up in conversation I would laugh and say "That bunch of cowboys? I'm surprised they are still in business".0

Be careful not to say anything that could come back and bite you on the bum. I would be very circumspect and let it be known that there was no problem until the other agency, who did not get the assignment were disparaging of you because THEY were miffed they did not place you there.0 -
I actually went for an interview and got a job with one agency but was contacted first about it, but not requested to go for an interview by another agency. The agency that contacted me first wanted me to contract through them whereas I wanted to contract through the other agency.
I phoned the employer and went through it and in the end went with the agency I wanted, the employer didn't care either way (huge bank) but all the second (or first) agency wanted was their commission and they were upset that they had lost out. If they had been quicker off the mark then they would have got the business.
I would not complain if your boss doesn't seem to care but I would use the argument as per my experience as it diffuses the problem.0 -
I work in recruitment and I would definatly complain to the manager about the aledged (sp) comments they have made. An agency is only as good as the staff they have working in there (No matter if it's a national or small time company)
Sounds like a case of bitterness on the other agency to make those comments.2010 is the year I'm going to sort my life out! :j

Thanks for all your comments. Nothing was mentioned to me on Friday so I'm probably going to just leave it there and just view it as a case of bitterness.
Oh the joys of agencies!0 -
I would ask the second agency why they offered to place you in company that they are later informing that you are a problem. Have you asked them to remove you from their books? They can't be trusted to make contacts for you.0
