I'm so pleased to have Googled this company and found you.
I received a letter today from Telogram Ltd addressed to my late husband, he died in March 1999. The letter has our previous address as his last known address - it most certainly was the last address he knew - he died at home of a massive heart attack. The experience of his sudden death has left me suffering depression and acute anxiety and me unable to work even after 10 years . Although I remarried this year I still cannot deal with any kind of stress. I'm worried that if I contact these sharks they will try to intimidate me, and if I don't they will follow up on their threat to pass this on to their 'investigation unit'. The only debt I'm aware of which was unpaid at the time of his death was a loan from Lombard (I think) and that loan was incurred before I met him.
It's obvious that they cannot legally enforce this debt on 2 different counts - elapsed time (at least 10 years) & the loan date being prior to our meeting. From the posts I've read such minor obstacles as legality don't stop them. I just need to know how to get rid of them quickly and with minimum fuss.
I haven't contacted them & could still return the letter.:embarasse

Your choice really - completely ignore their letters or return any future ones, unopened, as "not at this address". I know it might be tough not to open those letters but really, they can't do anything to you and if reading the letters is upsetting you then you should just ignore them - these people can't upset you if you don't give them a chance to.
The thing about "legality" - not sure what you mean here. They might threaten and make lots of noise as all debt collectors do, but they have precisely zero point nothing in the way of powers to force you to pay as much as a penny. Whatever else bad you can say about them, they're not the loan sharks you see on bad TV programs. They are not bailiffs, and they don't have any power to visit your home and disturb you in the slightest. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
