USA Forwarding - Are they who they say there are?

Hi all,

Long story short (well, I'll try!). Got an email from the US based company USA Forwarding, their website looks very professional, language in emails as well as their application forms all look upto standard. However, I have been hearing stories about shipping company scams, not sure how they work but is this one of them?

Here is a copy of one of the emails I got from them:

My name is ****** and I’m the representative of HR
department of USA Forwarding an international shipment operator.
We offer an opportunity to order delivery of commodities from a
shop in the United States right to the customers door outside of
the US. Understanding the great demand there is for purchase of
cheap and high quality US products around the world, on the one
hand, and the difficulties many people face with international
shipping, on the other, we propose a unique service that may
include:
- Collection of all your possible purchases made online in US
shops at our US address
- Repackaging them if requested
- Shipping them to customers' destination with one of global
carriers

To work for USA Forwarding is to be welcomed into a diverse

-Mailing package to the specific location

accuracy high motivation approach.

-Capable of solving tense situations with clients.

First Month Salary: $2'000 + $100 as gas compensation
After free one month training: $1200 every 2 weeks

You don't need to pay anything as we pay your trainig, we pay
shipping fees and other expenses during your job. All shipped
items are 100 legal.

This is a full-time job unless you have someone at home during
business hours to receive shipments.

Your payment is sent to you by check or can be direct deposited to
your bank account every 2 weeks after training.

If you are ready to start please fill in the attached application
form and email it back to me to receive the contract and we will
start.

We look forward to a successful working relationship in the
future.

I got another email today asking me to print out a legal contract, sign it and fax it to them, I will also need to send them a 'physical' copy if accepted for employment. Sounds like a lot of work for a scam?

Many thanks,

MoE

  • Hey MoE I got the same e mail yesterday.I received the same forms.I don't know what to do. My husband says not to go with it.It all looks very legit and very formal, but I am not sure.I have looked for some more info, but came up empty. I might call and see what I can find out, just because they need my social security number and I am not very comfortable giving it out. Let me know if you find anything else out.Best of luck to you.!! My instincts would say scam. Is this simply a generic email that appeared in your inbox? OP There is nothing on a google search giving the information you provided.

How about telling us the website address then, so we can do a bit of research into it?

people commit credit card fraud, will ship the goods to your address (rather than their own), and then you forward it to them (a PO box or rented apartment they have which would otherwise not be officially sent to).

You send them all these stolen goods for an entire month.

They clear off with thousands of pounds worth of goods that you have shipped them - you never get any wages at all, and the police end up knocking on your door when the people who have had their accounts cleared out have gone through the process of getting the police to track where the goods were sent. (you).

    be very careful.

I remember seeing that too a long time ago. Nasty thing to happen.

Is it just me, or does that not really say what you do? Open and phoyograph parcels..and then what? Deliver them (can''t if you have to be in all day), or have people come get them from you...kind of defeating the point if DHL come round isn't it? Who would pay for that or any customs fees etc that are bound to happen too?

Way dodgy as it stands, Get a andline, and some current emplyees to chat to maybe...then it may look better ?

I'd not think about giving them bank details :rotfl:

Could be sending you anything - including drugs such as heroin and cocaine. Who are the Customs and Police here in the UK going to visit when a package gets opened in Customs and is found to contain these drugs?

It could (just) be legitimate, but I'm not convinced.

Even if it is, it involves working in the USA, not the UK, and you would appear to need a US social security number to sign up.
  • has anyone heard anything further about this I received the same email and im eager to know what this company is about
  • I say scam, if it has come out of the blue and from another country, there is no protection for you if it goes bottom up.

I've had loads of these type of emails, wouldn't really risk it even if it was genuine. My instincts say it's a scam.
