Digital Camcorders

Don't know if this is the right place, but I need some advice. I'm looking to buy a digital camcorder, and was looking for some recommendations. I don't need anything too fancy, but then again I want it to be a decent model. Anyone got any ideas?

    Hi
We bought our first camcorder about 6 weeks ago. After doing some research I decided for our price limit (£300 for camcorder, bag and tapes) the best we could get would be a mini dv camcorder. I looked at a lot of models but kept coming back to the one above, I just couldn't find better for what I wanted to pay. It's about the only one on the market that comes with a docking bay and I got it for £241 using £15 voucher from currys (rrp £349). On amazon now it's £222. We used it on holiday and we're very happy with it. Also got the Sony LCS-VA40 Medium Camcorder Soft Case as I didn't want a flimsy bag where it would get damaged.

I found this site really useful too when I was researching http://www.simplydv.co.uk/links/index_links.html.

    Hope that helped.

in terms of consumer electronics, camcorders are the worst ever thing in terms of price... widescreen tvs, digital cameras, mp3 players etc

fact of the matter is, unless your prepared to pay over £250 you wont find anything worth while... except:

    1 word... ebay
