Q re BR forms - creditors - dates???

Hi All,

Just filling out all of my forms for bankruptcy. I am entering my list of creditors and have a couple of questions -

Some creditors have passed to debt collection agencies. Some others appear to have passed to debt collection agencies but are also still writing to me themselves. Very confusing but who should I write in as being the 'creditor'?

Also the form asks for agreement dates but after a very disorganised few years I can't find any paperwork for most of it and haven't got a clue. Would I be expected to contact these creditors to find out or just enter an estimated date?

Thanks
Kate

i'm not sure about your first question, but for the agreement dates i got an experian report which tells you when the debt started. i was the same, didn't have any agreements. hope this helps
  • The advice I got from the Insolvency Service was to list the name of the original creditor, eg 'Barclaycard' and where it asks for the address, list the debt collection agent chasing the debt eg 'Westcott Credit Management, 1 Broke Lane, Skintsville'

    hi

I would put your original creditor, then reference it in the additional notes that it is now held by such and such DCA.

Dont worry if you dont have the exact date, approximate it-the OR will contact these creditors anyway.

Same here, I thought I was quite organised but when it came to dates etc, I was hopeless. Just do the best you can and be honest.

with regards to the dates, i guessed alot of them. The guesses were probably quite close but i did tell the OR they were approximate and he seemed ok with that.
