hi, can any one advise me on this one for a work associate they have recieved a letter at there current address from 1st credit they owed debt from first marrige at previouse address , the debt i think from what they say is 5 years old whats the law on this one can it still be collected etc do they make contact ive suggested making small offer of payment all advise welcome

    depends on what the debt is and normally its 6 years since something like acknowledgment of debt,or last payment made. if its a mortgage debt then they can be chased for 12 years
