Had a dream about wasting money!

Has anyone else had a dream about saving money whilst in the DFW process?

Last night I had my first dream of this kind and was so pleased to wake-up!

In my dream, I had gone to New York to visit friends and had embarked on a shopping trip. In the department store, as well as buying things for myself, I ended up with 6 mens' suits for my boyfriend to be! I then flew home and saw all of the suits in my wardrobe. At that point, I realised how stupid I had been as I had not even started dating the potential boyfriend! I then started to panic as it would be too far to travel (and further expense) to New York to take the suits back. So thought I would have to flog them on Ebay, but what if I didn't make enough money? At that point I woke-up!

I think now that I have sorted myself out and am on the brink of being debt-free, I am so worried that I might go back to my reckless spending. I do not want to go back to my old ways but after months of frugal living, I keep having moments of wanting to go on a shopping spree or pay out for a Caribbean holiday! I won't do this but sometimes it's hard not to be tempted.

Anyone else the same?

OMG Ive had so many DF dreams its unbelievable.

ONly last night I dreamt that I bought the most god-awful wedding dress from TKMAXX it was green flowery old lady style and I was getting married in some sort of institution ( looked a bit like the mental hospitals from the 50s you see on tv sometimes) and I was crying in the dream. My aunt ( who is v stylish) was wearing a really tragic outfit as well really clubby style with her belly hanging out. I said " have you seen my OH hes got the fags" and then went off in search of him and then I found him and he didnt recognise me.

I said, Im going to have to back out of this. He said " sorry I dont know what your talking about who are you" At this I took the dress off ( in public) although there was just OH there and he said its still got the tags on take it back

    then I woke up

I have often had dreams featuring me posting random topics on here as well about which car I should buy ( im rather anti driving being so green and all) or other expensive purchases?

Someone get me a shrink :) :wall:
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

    Lynzpower,

Am so pleased to hear that you have the dreams too! Not that they're fun because they most certainly aren't!

You'll probably have a few more wedding nightmares too...have you set a date yet?

Are you feeling any better today? I've been reading your posts and I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling low at the moment.

I was once told that you dream about things because in your head it is unfinished business. I case we've all got unfinished business until our debt free dates.

Oh god I'm going to be dreaming about debt and money wasting until my debt is clear in 2014 !!!

I'm sure some folks on here will reprimand me for saying this but I think we do need to treat ourselves (and loved ones) occasionally. Otherwise, it gets too depressing. If it is only occasionally, it makes it feel even more special!

I remember when I had an ex who used to always take me out for dinner and I got to the point where I only wanted to eat at home. Restaurants just became ordinary.

Actually, that's something I've learnt from the DFW process...it is much better to 'go without' as you appreciate the little things so much more.

Weird coincidence maybe...two nights ago I dreamed I was in a casino at a card table and everyone was handling various packs of cards - except they looked more like monopoly cards than playing cards (we're thinking of getting a mortgage soon, so maybe thats the link).

Anyway I was panicking thinking "what the hell am I doing at a casino? I'm supposed to be saving money!", and I realised I didn't have a clue what I was doing, because everyone knew the terminology and would say things like "gimme a look at your cards...Ooh, you've got a Stephen King there...you should swap the top to cards and make your hand a a Tony Blair".

I have no idea what the dream was about.

I also occasionaly dream that I'm smoking....look down at my hand and there's a half smoked fag there and I feel really let down with myself.

I keep dreaming about penguins (the cute birdy things, not the chocolate biscuits) - what sort of unfinished business is that???

    Oooo-er.......

Actually, it was a reoccurring nightmare that made me take control of my finances three years ago.

Used to have a dream that I was in an out of control car and would end up near a large swamp. I would then try to walk through the swamp but as much as I tried, I couldn't make head-way.

This used to happen several times a week. I finally realised that the out of control car represented my inability to control my debt at the time...the swamp represented the level of debt I had. Once I realised this, the dreams stopped. I then took control of my debt by changing my exisiting high-rate loan to a lower one (saved me thousabds) and shifting my credit card debt to 0% cards. I haven't paid interest on my credit cards since.

The only thing I didn't do was address my spending habits...that only happened this year!

    Aaaargh

Just had a little kip this Pm due to heat, and not sleeping well. It must have been a deep one.

Im dreaming that im in my flat and theres a phone in each room all ringing. I go and hide in my bed, but on the phones are DCAS, and everytime I answer a phone it just says soflty " bankrupt" all the phones are off the hook all whispering "bankrupt"

Suddenly theres a massive load of banging at the door and loads of meat-head grim looking bonebreaker- permatan bailiffs all running through the hall SAS style doing those front- rolly things and banging on the doors and all that

then I woke up ( emitting little scream) to find OH running through the flat as he was missing the match as he'd been delayed on the tube

    Oh dear :rotfl:
