I love liver and onions too - most of my friends think I'm weird! Bit of grilled bacon and mashed spuds with it - wonderful winter warmer!I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss, Not in the next life, I want it in this, I want it in this

I love liver and bacon, but the children don;t so I add some sausages for the children, who will eat the onion gravy
I'll add this to the main liver thread later, so that anyone who's inspired can cook their ownwell not their own liver - you know what I mean

shhhhhh - for goodness sake- do NOT let the supermarkets know that people actually LIKE liver! the price will skyrocket!!! have you SEEN how much adsa is charging for belly pork these days since celeb chefs have started raving about it? last time I was in there it was actually dearer per kilo than pork chops!
seriously, well done OP! I never had liver as a child and my mum doesnt believe meat is cooked unless its cremated so I never realised how nice it could be properly cooked!
I started off with chicken livers, deglazed the pan with white wine, swirled cream in and its one of OHs fave meals.
so, instead of making faggots with pigs liver I gave that a go (in frying pan) with some bacon and onions - yummmmm
I am confident cooking liver now, as I know that soaking it in milk helps take out a lot of 'rawness' of flavour and helps tenderise it. I know NOT to over cook it! and that liver is actually quite delicious treated right!
so go for it - but DO keep it quiet! I love the fact its so cheap, but thats only because the supermarkets think customers dont like it!0
