New baking tins

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you should prime new tins by brushing with oil and baking in the oven before use. Is there any point in doing this with new non-stick tins? If so, how hot and for how long?
Thanks, Ness.

probably not because I think a lot of this dates back to
a time when you could not buy non stick tins, myself I store
my cake tins inside my oven on the bottom, less of an area
to heat and its amazing how much has baked onto them
over time:j:j:j0
