Ragu sauces at Tesco

Jars of Ragu sauces are currently £1.5? each or 2 for a £1 at Tesco. Stock up while you can if you use them. The ones I bought are Best Before 09/2011.

Tip : Can of Tesco chopped toms =38p ( or there abouts ) add Herbs de providence , Oregano , squirt of tom paste and a clove of Garlic crushed . much nicer and cheaper in Spag Bol . .

Very true, but don't you ever have nights when the thought of opening a tin , putting things in it and having another pan to wash up is just too much?

Must admit with any Tomato based sauces I'll make from scratch. I'll make up a big batch then freeze it in smaller portions.

White sauce i'll happily buy in a jar to save on time though!

I always make my own spag bol and its far nicer than shop bough BUT
I always have some pasta sauce in a jar on standby to just shove over pasta for a quick fix emergency meal:)
I have made my own tomato sauce but I dont know what they add to the jars but its much less acidic that mine no matter what I do

skiTTish, have you tried adding tomato puree before the tin and cooking it out a little first, then adding sugar to the tomatoes? x
