He is 65 this year and I think I should get him a token gift. I don't want to spend too much - but want to get something original. We work for an aviation law firm, so something aviation related would be good.

Is it possible to club in with a few other employees (if any?). Then £5-10 in the pot each, and you can get a more significant pressie, without any individuals trying to out do each other?
You could get a newspaper of the day he was born (jul 1941) which I think you can pick up for about £40-50 (not that I've ever looked into prices - just thought it would be an orginal idea).
If you can't lub together then a good old bottle of bubbly is traditional, and shows the thought is there - which is the most important thing I suppose.

i think i am gonna get him a bottle of champers and decorate his office! i havent sent a card round the office or anything - people are stingy here!! but he brought me a nice xmas pressie so i want to make a bit of an effort0
