Direct Debit Refund: Specsavers

Good evening all, need some advice if anyone can help,
I am a specsavers lensmail customer. I pay a direct debit, £15 a month, and the terms and conditions say that a new agreement renews itself upon recieving each three months of lenses. I have not recieved any lenses since three months ago, and today I rang specsavers and told them I wanted too have a refund as I have not had any sent out to me (Owing to not attending a check up in two years). The staff member told me I am not eligible for a refund as apparently the debit mandate form is a contract? So I went into store and picked up a photocopy and a copy of recent terms and conditions. Nothing states anything about a contract unless I would have recieved the lenses before hand in which I'd need to pay the three months. Can they keep my moneys? They seemed angry when I went into the store and challeged them! Anyone have some advice? Regards (A Resident lurker - Chris)

Hi Chris
My missus is a contact lens manager for Speccy's - I'll find out when I get home tonight.
What store was it?

Apparently you pay for lenses in arrears so no refund I'm afraid - you should have received a letter stating you needed another checkup? Believe me, she gets a lot of grief from customers who don't read their mail (including physical threats recently)

If direct debit, you could utilize the dd guarentee. Where if certain conditions are met you can get monies refunded back. Direct debit reversal if you like to call it. Your bank (where the DD is) should be able to advise you more fully in this respect.
Good luck,If you see a penny, pick it up, all day long you'll have good luck !!!!!!0
