The Western Digital's are very good hard drives. Pity it's only the 2Mb cache version. The better 8Mb cache version sells for around £100.
TV card will be the same as last years. Got one and seems to work well. Uses a Philips Chipset. I can't get a good picture on mine but that's reception issues. Radio works fine.
For more info and updates.

Could anybody advise whether or not the DVD burner advertised here is any good. On a technical note, could some-one please tell me what the difference is between plus and minus recordings ??? Many thanks the poster and for any replies in advance.

Anybody who has got the TV card can you confirm that it will capture at DVD specs which for PAL are around 720x576?
The DVD burner is not such a good deal
try this instead

For DVD drives (and media), I suggesst that you try
SVP also known as blankdiskshop.

Generally they have the best or almost the best prices anywhere. Indeed even if they are not the cheapest, it may worth paying a small premium for their service/support just in case there is a problem.
Unlike some sites that get mentioned in this forum, SVP are very highly recommended. (This is not to say ALDI provide poor support but I know SVP are good. )0 -
TV card: Yes it supports up to 720x576 resolution, selectable frame rate, codec and timelimit.
DVD Writer:
I think this is the right model.
CD Freaks review
Doesn't have great write perfformance.
Personally I would buy either a NEC or Pioneer. NEC tends to have the best write quality, although don't expect any support from NEC. Plenty of unofficial support at the CD Freaks NEC forum, including modified firmware. People are already working on the new NEC3520A. If you fancy a Pioneer writer, be aware that the 109 should be available soon.Hug provider for depression thread :grouphug:

Aldi does give this a 3 year warranty. They are very good at giving back your money if you have any problems with their goods.0
