Overdraft Needed

Hi, Although not a loan as such, can anyone tell me how on earth I can get an overdraft? I am on Incapacity Benefit so my monthly income is less than £400 per month. Although I am lucky and own my own home outright, my bank (HSBC) will not give me an overdraft of £100 which I would only use occasionally in an emergency. They charged me 25.00 about 4 months ago when I went overdrawn, and again, this week they will charge me £25 for being overdrawn again. (The charge was initially £50 but I phoned and they reduced the charge). They said I could apply again for an overdraft but to keep asking and being told no would affect my credit rating! Help Please!!!

To ask and be told no may not affecting your Credit rating as it may be the banks own internal rating that is preventing you from getting an OD due to the amount of funds coming in and out of the account and past conduct.
It may not get as far a real credit check. Have you looked at your files recently?

HSBC tend to be a pretty tough bank and don't give out overdrafts very easily

Better to build up a little bit of savings so you have a bit spare and don't need an OD.
