Did Indiefield Trick me?!

Hey guys,

I'm signed up to Indiefield.com to take part in market research surverys for a few extra quid...I've been a member for some years but I never seem to match the criteria they want (eg. Do you own a purple jeep with three wheels and live in Wigan?)...however I finally found one I matched-"Do you own a VW?" Which I do! So I filled in the online form which said they would call me in the week to ask a few basic questions and would also send me a questionnaire in the post for which, once I returned, I would be paid £5 for completing. Sounded fair enough-I mean it's a fiver for ticking boxes? So I got a call from a guy at Indiefield and he confirmed they'd send me the form and I'd get a fiver but first he needed to ask me some questions over the phone (I already knew to expect 'basic' questions so I agreed)...the phone call lasted about 20 mins and he basically asked me anything and everything about my car-some questions so detailed I had no idea of the answers. This was just under 2 weeks ago and there's been no questionnaire through my door. Did they just promise me a fiver so I'd answer their questions on the phone which would contribute to their market research figures which they can now sell on to the client....is the questionnaire real??

  • My name is Mandy Cullen and I am the Call Centre Manager at Indiefield. I have just seen this post and wanted to reassure you we were not trying to trick you – or anyone else! The market research study you mention is something we carry out every six months and in total we contact over 3,000 people each time. This means we send out over 3,000 £5 “Thank You” cheques every six months. It is unfortunate you did not receive your questionnaire as we do value every response we have returned. We do understand that taking the time and energy to complete the questionnaire and post it back deserves a reward. I can only assume that somewhere along the line we either sent your questionnaire to the wrong address or it was lost in the post. However, if you did not receive anything at all from us please do contact me directly on:
    020 8245 8000
I do not want anyone to feel they have been tricked and we do value everyone who signs up to our Consumer Directory.
Please do contact me so we can resolve this and we can send you your £5 cheque for participating in our study.
    Many thanks
    Mandy Cullen
