  • Focus on hygiene and think about how qualified the person conducting the interview is for their job. You do not want to seem better than they are even before you start.
  • look smart. turn up on time. say you like pies.

    done.

Don't try to be more qualified than a manager of a local Greggs shop?

    Is that possible?
  • all about appearance and service. Give the customers the trust and satisfaction especially as regards foods when they will go down their bellys hehe

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

My interview is today, and looking forward to it.

The only problem is the vacancy is for 20 hours, and they are fully flexible hours.

Does anyone know what this means?

I have no problem with the hours, but do another job, so would be great if I can pick and choose when I can work, but not so good if they want me to be fully flexible.

It means you will cover breaks etc. Only come in for 4 or 5 hours at a time. Eg 4hoursx5days=20hours

They won't let you pick and choose. If you impress, the manager might work something out to help both you and them but you won't be able to pick and choose.

    As above...

I was offered the job, but the hours were different than what was advertised, so I decided not to go ahead with it.

Thanks for the advice everyone, just looking now for a job where the hours are what they say they are.

You will in all likiehood find your interview consists of a 10 minute chat in the back of the shop with a large middle aged woman desperate to get out for a fag.

Based on your advice on this forum, no wonder she needed a fag!
