Where to buy cheap glass jars for homemade gifts?

I plan to make bath salts and roasted nuts for families this X'mas. This is the first time I make homemade X'mas gifts and I was wondering if all you more experienced gift-makers can suggest where to buy glass jars? I need about 6-10 small to medium size jars (240-500g).

Thanks!

I put out a mass email at work, and asked oh to do the same. We got boxes and boxes full of jars, mason jars, all sorts!!

Perhaps pop a flyer on a marketplace/board if you have something like that in your village/work/family's workplaces

Most of the supermarkets have them in right now and they arent that expensive either :) Ikea do some lovely different shaped ones and also the Poundshop had some in the other day too - may be worth checking out any local stores :)

  • Ikea have the kilner style jars (with metal spring clasp & sealing ring) for 89p at that size, great for preserves and bath salts! Be sure your salts are dry before you put them in the jar, or pressure may build up!
    good luck!

Asda have kilner type ones for £1 but they are larger at around a litre. I bought them to fill with fudge and tablet and toffee.
