sending christmas presents to america?

hi all,

does any of you clever people know if i can send things like chocolate and bisto gravy granules to america as you cant buy them out there :rotfl:
any ideas on what i can send which will be light on postage but a great meaningful pressie would be great

I send chocolate etc and yes I have sent Bisto in the past. Photographs are a good choice but I don't frame them. Last date for posting is 11 Dec. I have sent advent calendars, jewellery, ties cuff links. Be open on your declaration label ie don't just put presents, i put sweets, food clothing toys books etc accordingly. I think a 2kg parcel costs about £20 to send. How about mums favourite tights.
Have even sent custard powder in the past! My daughter loves to get cadburys sent to her.
How about your 4yr old making something with you like a small photo album. You can buy cards where you can record your voice, approx 20 seconds I think. It would be nice to get your little one to sing We wish you a merry Christmas to them. I think Clintons do the cards.

did you post the bisto as it is or put it in a freezer bag etc? sorry to be a pain :rolleyes:. i think the card is a brilliant idea which my mum will love.

I simply left the bisto as it was.

I find that if you are clear with addresses etc then I use clear sellotape over the address to make it waterproof. I once used a permanent marker without sellotape and the parcel was missing for ages, a very loved teddy that had been left behind. Some fantastic mail man decided he couldn't go on holiday until this parcel was with it's owner, my 2yr old grandson. He had a vague zip code to go on and finally the teddy arrived at my daughters 4-5 weeks later in Dallas!!

it hadnt crossed my mind about the address becoming unreadable silly me! i will defintly be covering the address in sellotape clever you!

your poor grandson,but what a lovely kind mail man im sure your daughter and grandon were very happy :j when your parcel eventually turned up.you have been so helpful i very much appreciate your help. :beer:
