I wanna: Block users from certain websites

How can I block people coming to my site from another web site?

I either want to stop access from the other site to a particular page on my site, or all of it if necessary.

Any ideas?

I don't know how it is done but an idea is to set a user name and password to your site or just a certain link.

If you want to stop people on certain PCs accessing your site, you can usually block access to your site from their IP address. Do a google on e.g. ".htaccess" for more information (the "dot" in the search string is important).

Of course, if their ISP uses dynamic IP addressing (where they're given a different IP every time they log in) then it'll be impossible to stop these people without stopping absolutley everyone else on their ISP.

For anyone wishing to contact me privately to ask me a question, can I ask that you email me directly as my PM box is often full.
  • Another alternative is to change the url of the page they are linking to. This could be a forwarding page, you could put a message on there indicating that the url does not exist and are been redirected to the home page. The original page, which is renamed would act as normal with a few link changes.
