Hi all my Asus EEEpc 901 has somehow got stuck in Shortcut key mode, I cannot type anything, it just defaults to a shortcut.
I've tried the Accessibility keyboard to check if anything is ticked but it appears not.
I switched my computer off a few days ago and the lead was caught between the screen and keyboard so I'm presuming 'something' got pressed.
Please can anyone help, its driving me mad.

It matters not if you try and fail, And fail, and try again; But it matters much if you try and fail, And fail to try again.

Oh and the other thing is that my mouse is stuck on scrolling the page bigger or smaller, it won't actually scroll up or down.
Would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this also please.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

*I think*
Normaly with netbooks you control stuff like that using FN button and function keys so hold down FN + the function key to enable or disable something. Not 100% sure but have a look anyway.0 -
Thanks I'll give it another go, I had tried that earlier but it didn't appear to do too much except eventually shut the computer down.

Is the num lock indicator (if there is one) ON or OFF?0

Sounds to me like one of the Shift, Alt, or Ctrl keys has stuck down. This happens occasionally (especially to laptops as there's less travel in the keys - not sure if yours is a lappy).
Give each of those keys a good press - a good thwack. Don't forget there's some on the right hand side as well.
Hopefully this'll sort it.0 -
I'll have a go, thanks for the suggestions and I'll update later.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08
