Hi all,
I've just returned from tesco where they have all their DVD box sets on 'offer'. However the SEL's have just a normal price on them e.g. £20 for jonathan creek- no mention of an offer on the SEL and no special purchase or yellow colouring.
Now here comes the good bit... next to them on every shelf is a big 'half price' label - no other comments or writing on the sign.
Therefore Tesco honoured my DVD boxset of jonathan creek for £10. i.e. half the price shown on the SEL.
Hope this helps someone- apparently the issue has been there all week! (you might need to fight a bit to get it, although they seemed resigned to the discount, they just needed a manager to do it).

Surely that would then be DTD and therefore free??
Charge £20
Should be £10 (half price)
£10 difference x 2 = £200 -

Oh, I will check/try this tomorrow, with DTD of course!!
Can I check tho...... as im a bit confused....When you say 'next to' were the box sets next to the shelves with the signs or were the signs below the box sets?? (Im not sure that even makes sense now, lol!!) As if the first, then they could argue that as they are not on that particular shelf so therefore not half price! (OMG, re reading this im even more confused!)
Thanks OP0 -
The box sets were on a shelf which had a plain half price marker on it. I wanted STD but I hadn't paid when I got my discount and then they were taking them down. There were loads (of other BBC/tv/film boxsets) there though, so if you're in a store and see this sign it's worth trying! If you aim for the moon if you miss at least you will land among the stars!0
