friendly pesticide

Options
Hi,

I'm not sure if I've posted this in right place - please forgive as I'm new here.

I have these weevil things living off my money tree, and they're killing it. I tried to use a standard bug spray but this made most of the leaves drop off the money tree.

So I was wondering if anyone knew of any friendly (?) ways of getting rid of them without killing my tree?

Thanks

Are the weevils visible? If so, try just picking them off. Depending on your views either squash them or take them for a walk and let them go outside.
A few years ago my money plant had red spider mite and lost all its leaves. I thought it would die but put it outside and it got a new lease of life. I now put it outside at the end of May and bring it in in September (avoiding frosts) and it is in fantastic condition.
Perhaps if you can put yours outside and give it a gentle blast with the garden hose (unless you have water restrictions) or hope for rain to wash them away. The weevils may dislike being outside and just leave your plant.
The only 'pesticide' I would use is perhaps a weak dilute solution of washing up liquid sprayed over your plant.

If you do try the washing up liquid, better use Ecover ;)

Thanks - I'll try the ecover solution, and will put the plant outside to see if that works.

    Thanks for the tips.
