Closed my case without letting me know!!

So I made the decision a few weeks ago to close down my CS1 case and transfer to CS2.

Lots of phone calls and names taken and internal telephone numbers for assurance that my arrears would migrate over.

I had it worked out that my 13 weeks would be up roughly beg/mid Jan but had not rec'd confirmation in writing (despite many phonecalls from them to me making SURE I knew what I was doing). So phoned today as I wanted it in writing and it turns out that my case was closed in July this year:eek: And I could be offered no explanation aside from the papers will need to be ordered and the case looked at.

Now the chap I spoke to (trying to pacify me I feel as he could hear the astonishment in my voice) said 'but it doesn't matter as it was a nil assessment anyway'...

Not really the point I said (trying to keep calm) as there are 2 issues here

1 -Why the bloody hell did my case get closed for no apparant reason - lets just say I got wind that he was in more 'suitable' ie not on the fiddle employment and had asked for a reassessment to only be told there was no case aside from arrears

2 - 13 weeks from mid July is approx endish Oct (can't be bothered to check exact date) so I could have had a new case on the go since then so in actual fact, I HAVE lost maintenance as the new case will only be from today and not Oct...granted it's only 5 weeks but it's not the poiint. According to the calculator I will be entitled to £26 a week so I have potentially lost out on over £120...

So hence I have advised I want this treated as a matter of urgency as this may be a potential MD complaint and I suppose more importantly my CS2 case has been started from today so hopefully I will start to see some money soon as he can't fiddle around with housing costs and just working enough to be a nil assessment (save for the money on the side he is receiving 'natch:rolleyes:)

So, my little online chums, it's NOT just the male NRP's that get a hard deal and a shedload of stress;)

    Ridiculous.

Only positive being you don't now have to wait 13 weeks and can get the ball rolling straight away.

    Good luck.

I can only guess what kind of comment speedster has decided to grace me with (I have all the morons on ignore) but frankly it's not welcome.

I had exactly the same thing loopy - apparently mine was for "lack of contact" even though I had rung them several times.

Then I was told it was because I had not supplied the name of my ex husband - well that was wrong as the bloke from the DWP came out to fill the forms out for me  and he had ALL of his details......ermmmmmm......well not sure then came the answer but we have moved it all to Plymouth and you will have to reapply and open a new case.

    Unbelievable to be honest.

Jeez couldn't be lack of contact - I knew my case number off by heart and there had been alot going on with Crim Compliance etc this year.

Hopefully I will get to know...it's not really the small sum that I may or may not have lost out on, it's the principle of the bloody thing:mad:

Anyway, I got the correct number and got a lovely lady who took all the relevant details (apparantly CS2 don't get access to contact details from CS1 although they do get access to all other details - bit bizarre I thought). I have been warned on several occasions that it will probably go clerical but am prepared for that.

CS2 can't be any worse than CS1...(she says either hopefully or REALLY naively!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)
