Gerkins/Pickles?!

Waitrose own brand are good - not sweet and not horribly vinegary. They are Turkish of course!
Otherwise look for Polish or Turkish pickles; as someone said, they sell them in the 'ethnic' aisle in Asda.0 -
Look at the ingredients label - the type of pickles used in American fast-foods don't have sugar added to them, and most brands seem to. I always have a jar of Mrs Elwood's handy, which I buy at Tesco but I've seen them available elsewhere. Otherwise I find cornichons are closest in flavour.
Mrs Elwood's Sweet and Sour is the ONLY brand to buy, IMHO ...
You can get in many Sainsburys, ASDA, Morrisons and Tesco etc in London, especially in NW London.0
