I did buy in 2000.

I didn't buy before because I am single and always lived in pricey areas. I never lived within 100 miles of somewhere with £12k houses.

I bought a SO studio on a council estate (full price £52k) in 1990, sold that 7 years later and was in NE. So, in buying 10 years later, I was starting again.
