Just an update: It's been a long drawn out process, but we have a decision.
My friend's claim got accepted and the employer first claimed that she didn't know about the ET claim, so we had to give her another month for her to respond. In the end, she tried making an out of court settlement for 500 quid so my friend rejected it. The employer failed to submit her response in time, and the judge has gone away and made a default judgement for 2300 quid!
I am slightly confused now, my friend rang up her ET advisor who said the decision was "under review", yet the confirmation letter which says a default judgement was made mentions nothing of it. What happens next?

Maybe they are going to appeal?
Can't believe some employers try things like this on, good luck and well done for all the help you are giving your friend:T0 -
Our tribunal is tomorrow morning! I have printed out emails now, with interview arrangements AND most importantly one that states the salary of the job.
Wish us luck tomorrow, it seems the employer has solicitors representing her!0 -
After this is over, maybe name and shame. Stop some others getting conned0
