Help: Unsecured loan Fee Problem

Hi, I recently had a look online for unsecured loans. After registering details with a few companies I was called within under an hour by a company named unsecured loans. The lady on the phone took my details and personal circumstances, a few moments after she said I had been accepted by a company for a loan of £500. After another brief discussion about repayments she took my bank details and said the money would be in my account 3-5 days after they took a £44 fee for finding the loan. 3 days later £44 was taken out of my account without my permission and another week later I got a message saying I couldnt get a loan yet because I need a guarantor and the company needs my credit file.
I have contacted the company about a refund and they have said they will find me a loan if I send a credit file. Obviously I just want my money back or part of it.
Can anybody offer me any advice at all...... please...

Unfortunately you have joined the masses who have been conned my friend. There are numerous threads on here about these companies including the unsecured loan company. They take your fee money & never deliver a loan. You have to put it in writing to them that you want to cancel your contract with them & request your fee money back. In their own t & c's you have 14 days to cancel it in writing with them to get a full refund (it is point 13!)
So write to them requesting your fee money back. They are only legally allowed to hold onto £5 of it.0 -
Isn't there a template message new joiners to MSE could use to save the time typing it all out??
Sorry OP, you've been stung like thousands of others.
You can recover your fee (minus £5) if you persevere. Don't phone or email, keep it all in writing and send recorded.0
