UPDATE: ALL 26 episodes now available, at the top of the page you'll find links to episodes 1-8 and then episodes 9-17 if you missed them. keep scrolling down and you'll find episodes 18-26... whilst originally designed to listen to one per day on the run up to christmas you could enjoy loading up a few or all of them and listen to them while wrapping presents, making christmas cards or christmas cookies etc...very sweet and not to be missed :p

i home educate my 8 year old daughter and i use a homeschool freebie of the day link regularly. the people that run it also do radio programme materials that they normally charge a small fee for, however, every so often they are included in the HE freebies.

for the holidays they are giving away a complete series of radio programmes from the late 30's or early 40's called The Cinnamon Bear. i've already listened to part of the first one and it's very sweet and would def appeal to children up to at least 8, possibly older if you get them involved in some activities in conjunction with it or perhaps listen to it while you make cookies or art etc.

the series is 26 episodes and they are giving them out over a few weeks. the link i'm including takes you to the daily (weekdays) HE freebies site (in case you want to check it out regularly) the link you want is right at the beginning and will be good for 1 week ONLY. when you click on that link the site it takes you to gives you the first 8 episodes which they suggest that you use listen to one per day in the lead up to christmas (since today is the 1st though and there are 26 episodes you may want to listen to the first 3 then daily or save the extras for christmas eve!)

they also have a link for the pdf colouring book to go along with it which is sweet and something fun to do whilst listening.

when on that page you'll also get an offer to sign up for the audio newsletter. if you do this you'll get an activation link via email which once click activates your account AND gives you a link to download Hans Chrisitan Andersen mp3 story of about 30min long.

you usually only get 1 email a week from these folks and while some of the daily freebies are a little too old fashioned or christian for my taste many of them are superb educational resources. i also enjoy listening to their audio programmes and have been considering joining in to access more than just the freebies... at any rate i thought this was something a little magical for the wee ones and thought i'd share, hope you enjoy it :santa2: http://www.homeschoolfreebie.wholesomechildhood.com/
