Kitten can't open one eye..

on the tea thing, my grandad used to recommend cold tea as well, something about it being less harsh and more soothing than salt water on wounds or the eyes, but more antibacterial than water? i never really "got" it either. obviously wouldnt do anything if there was an infection though! my fudge had a gammy eye, i used to bathe it with tea to get the crust off and then put his drops in before and after school and just before bed! he loved it, he used to come to me with his head up in the air ready for it lol

Sorry about your brother FF,I know what he's going thru.I've had an infection of the right eye for over a year,My doctor say's it's impossible to cure fully as it's under the eyelid.my eye waters terribly & can be very painful,drops twice a day to boot.
So,to the OP,I'm 100% behind FF,Get puss to the vet ASAP!

Cold tea - definately & then off to the vets as soon as.

I had this is an elderly cat a few months back. he was lucky he didn't have to get his eye removed. The cornea was scratched. Not visible to me, but he had to have drops & it's cleared up a treat - remarkable in fact considering his age, but don't leave it.

It can be very painful for the animal & if there's any pus around the eye then it's infected.

Sorry to read that - sounds v similar to my brother, hope it does not go on for a year. Have you been referred to a specialist? It was the hospital who found my brother had two infections.

Yes,but they just keep giving me more drops & I now wear glasses to read & watch TV,but not this week cuz I left them in the TA Barracks Monday....:mad:

Thanks for the replys..we only have 1 vet near us so going to others is not an option..as for my hair well i did say i would cancel it but if i cant get him in then theres not s lot i can do. He is asleep again but dh said he has been runnign around..hes eating and drinking so will take him down first thing in the morning.
I realise eyes are very important hence posting on here for advice as well as trying the vets.

Kitty booked in for 2.40pm so will get him down and seen..typically as soon as i put the phone down in he trotted with both eyes open and has since but seeing as we are not here i need to know he is ok. Ill update later x

Great stuff - will be good to get it seen to & I hope that it's just been a minor irritation that's cleared up of its own accord.
