Oh, I remember a thread from a while ago where Borax and a slow cooker were used in the same sentence  - I'll see if I can find it!

I use Glo White. Works for me even at low temps.0

I buy a dylon dye and spruce them all up - all my greying pants, few manky tea towels ect are now a lovely flamingo pink - they were totally past saving with Glo white!0

Yes, second that - I also use the dye solution. White underwear after a while simply becomes black underwear. I have also used flamingo pink in the past, and turquoise is good as well!"Remember that many of the things you have now you could once only dream of" - Epicurus0 -
I have used Glo white (and similar) before. Its works really well.0

Hi
I fill the sink with warm water and a squirt of bleach. Add clothes then leave overnight. They should now be white. Then I rinse them off and wash as usual in the machine. Good luck!0 -
I just avoid buying white clothes! The only white shirts I have are an evening dress one and one for weddings/funerals/job interviews etc that are once in a blue moon. Underwear is black or that 'grey marl' pattern.
I don't understand how they kept whites white in the old days with 'dolly blue' because surely that just made clothes look blue, not white? I know it's supposed to be some sort of optical illusion but I still don't understand it.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
