The city has a "Winter Trail" initiative, part of it being the "Go Penguins" art/environmental awareness extravaganza across the city centre this month. You can download the penguins programme here.

There's also the Liverpool One Big Wheel, which will cost a tenner for an adult and small child together.

Mine like the indoor play area over at New Brighton. It's much better than the wacky warehouse type ones as there's more to do. Costs £3 per hour, with entrance on the hour, but they start letting in at quarter to so you can get an extra 15 mins for free.

  • Spaceworld in Prescot is £3.95 and adults go free. During the week you can stay as long as you like, but I believe there is a time limit at weekends.

museums are good for kids free and very entertaining there are a few in liverpool. Havent been to bug world but would like to hear peoples comments. Jump onto the ferry and do a round trip or get off at seacombe and do spaceport/and or aquarium. New brighton adventure land is good but further away from town still as is southport.
enjoy Liverpool you can walk most of the town centre in about 2 hours

    Hi,
Sorry only just noticed this thread. Not sure if its too late now but have you tried the Yellow Sub in town? I take my 18 month old and 5 year old niece and they absolutely love it. I usually go of a weekday after school and its not too busy. I think they set a time limit on your play session when it is but thats never happened to us.
    Have fun!

  • There's a great soft play area on Mount Pleasant where the 051 used to be, it's about £4 (I think) for an hours play, my son is 6 and loves it, here's the link to the location but you can't miss it, it's big and green and close to the Adelphi:

I hope this helps and you both have a great time!

Grandma took her again this weekend, about the 8th time now, and she still loves them!!

Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone ;)
  • The Walker Art gallery.......on the ground floor they have big art...lots of hands on things to do for the little ones up to the age of about 8....about 2 hours worth....great for the adults to.

Underwater Street - but sadly not free.

The museums and the art gallery.

Get a saveaway and go on the ferry, or for a train ride.

Sefton Park - great playground. Same thing at the bottom of Jericho Lane.

    Croxteth Hall Park.

The urban farm in Kirby (Acorn?)
