Cheers for all your help.
At 11:45pm last night I went up into the loft and the pressure was at nothing and the blue light on the boiler was not on.
I opened the valve to increase the pressure but nothing happened.
Got brother-inlaw round now having a look.0 -

The heating system will be pressured. So when you open the radiator bleed valve, you are using that pressure to force the air out. Once you have bled the air out/fluid, you will find that the pressure is now 0.4 bar (for example) and should be replenished to 1bar.
Usually under the combi boiler there is a link pipe, which looks like something like this..
This is used to reset the pressure.
Does it look like this.?
The boiler and the pressure "ball" are seperate. The "filling loop" by the pressure ball was not working when I opened it up.0 -
Beats me...
I only know how to top it up from what the british gas guy said when he serviced it.
And bleeding from when ive took the rads off to paint behind them. I learnt the hard way, and now bleed with one valve closed & fill the rad from both sides.0
