Hiya - I've not been around for a few weeks, but I'm still intending to go BR and am gradually getting everything in place. I got my co-op cashminder card through today so will transfer my pay to start going to that account from now on :-)
Anyway, as a quick recap - I had to move out of marital home and now live quite far away. My ex has pretty much moved out and is living with his new partner and we're going to go for a voluntary repo on the house. I happened to be back there at the weekend and there was a red letter form the Electoral Register people...obviously my ex hasn't filled in the reminders they've sent previously.
My question is what do I say on it? I don't live there anymore and am now listed on the register for my new home. My ex technically still lives there but is moving out on 11th December...I guess I should fill it in saying that he is still living there though? As technically as of this date he does? Should I say I live there too as my name is still on the mortgage?
Sorry - it's probably a really dumb question but you guys were the first place I thought of to ask for advice :-)
Take care

Is there a phone number on the form. I was moving (repo) just as we needed to submit our forms. A quick telephone call sorted out our confusion. I'm sure if you called the council offices they could guide you to the place that can help. Hope to help but I doubt I have.0

Hi, if you don't live at that address then just leave as it is. send the electoral letter back with your name crossed out. They will deduce from that you are no longer living at the property.
Have either one of you informed your council tax dept that the house is empty?
You do not have to be on the electoral register simply because you still own the property. Presumbly you are paying CT for where you live now and will be registering on the electoral roll there?
Am just summising here so hope it helps. There used to be a street named after Chuck Norris, but it was changed because nobody crosses Chuck Norris and lives.0 -
Hi guys - just to say thanks for your replies :-) Yes I'm paying CT at my current address and on the register here too. I've taken my name off the CT and all bills at my old place, so I just scored my name off the form and sent it back with just my ex's name on it. Technically he's still living there until 11th December, so that was the right thing to do.
Thanks again!
