im looking at your rent/ mortgage

Is that shared ownership? If so, is that interest only? Only Im in the same boat and cr**ing it about how to make up the shortfall as Im meant to have put the difference between IO & repayment in an ISA and I havent.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick here?

the flat is all mine :D my proudest achievement. it's also a repayment mortgage, not interest only! i just got it for an incredible price before the market went sky high...a one bed granite flat in the city centre...£2400!

i could clear my debts and much more if i sold up, i'd make three times what i paid for it, but then i'd be without a house and i love this place so much it'd break my heart :(

Mobiles are my pride and joy as well, as are contracts and I love playing them off each other. What do you use your phone for most, texts or calls and could you cope without one ? I ask because you can pay £20 a month and get 3000 texts from orange just no calls. That saves you £10 a month on your bill straight away. I thought I couldn't cope with out talking on the mobile but my bills are coming in at £21. I'm not using anywhere near that number of texts but it;s the lowest bills I've ever had and I got a free phone.

erm, i use my calls and texts. i live on hours drive away from my folks, and not driving means i dont see them :( so i call them quite often, my mum nearly every day...
my friends i text and i tend to text a heck of a lot. it the situation got totally dire i guess i'd have to live without, but i'm only a few months into an 18 month contract so i'm kinda stuck.

thats the problem with most things, being tied into a contract stuffs you. I had a partner until a couple of months ago, so most of this stuff was started while we were together, now he's gone and i'm stuck with them. but i'm better off without him so i'll cope :)

i'm trying, trust me. but it appears a degree is worth nothing these days...
when i say part time, i usually do 37 hours a week, but it's not guarenteed if they need a staff member less one day i get an extra day at home.

to do more with the dressmaking i'd have to set it up as a proper business paying tax etc, but i don't have the funds. i'd also have to get business insurance to do it from home.

i've been selling things through ebay to get extra cash, which usually goes to pay off my cards

I wasnt having a go, just curious. So is your income still £600 a month if you do 37 hours a week? If so, that seems very very low!! Or do you budget for £600 & whatever else you earns just disapears?

Do the interest free periods on your cards run out in 07 or 06?

What you need to do is work out what you can live off & then what you have left for your debts, then throw this at the highest debt (or the one with the highest APR)

One item in your list of outgoings is £16.50 to bt for line rental.

This would suggest that you are not on the basic bt together option 1 package. If you don't use the line because of your mobile you could get this reduced to £10.50 if you pay by DD and opt for the cheapest option 1 package. However I may have missed something and if you use the phone then the deal you are on could actually save money. Check it out.

Only a thought, I know it doesn't save a lot.
