I too am obsessed with emails, the internet and life :p

though rather than sending emails how about using a calendar and syncing it with your phone? or does that not involve using the scroller? :p

edit: supposedly bill gates gets millions of emails and has a team of people employed to sift through them

and usually when you email the ceo of bt for example someone from his team will reply to you

I tend to use https://www.rememberthemilk.com to organise my tasks, there are other sites, but that one us indispensible for me.

read Tim Ferris book on the four hour work week, it has some great tips on how to reduce email with some simple techniques, in the way you write email responses, use things or remember the milk which assist the getting things done GTD process :)

I picked up a copy of David Allen's book in January, then I watched Merlin Mann's video online, then I discovered the Simplicity Survival Handbook by David Jensen. As a result I have reclaimed my Inbox and now delete 90% of all EMail I get. Now I coach other people on EMail management in our company in my quest for Mailbox Zero!

Mostly I just ignore them. I load email twice a day, deleting immediately stuff I don't think I'll be interested in - and ignoring the rest. Having a quick look now I have 27,342 unread emails in my Inbox, 23,938 in my Junk Mail box unread.

Life's too short. I just scan down for the ones that catch my eye like "You have new funds" - always a winner that one is.

If I suddenly decide I want something, I'll do a search for all emails from that organisation, then create a folder and drag them all in in one go.
