Morrisons Bollinger offer no good as no stock

Morrisons offer of Bollinger is no good given they have not had it in stock, is there anything to penalise supermarkets that offer goods but then do not bother despatching the goods to branches?

Do supermarkets do this kind of thing just to get people in the store?

Morrisons bollinger offer no good because bollinger tastes foul lol

and no a store can not be penalised for not having suffiecient stock if in the terms it says only whilst stocks last they are thefore avoiding liability

its merely an offer to treat however if they were advertising and had never actually had or intended to sell the product then perhaps they could be done for being misleading

    Yes - and it works!!

How many people go to buy a special like this and end up getting "a few bits" while they are in there...

Today is my final visit to Morrisons for the Bollinger or Moet offer....my third without success.
  • Some stores did have stock! I tried 3 times during the week and they didn't have any of the offers (no moet, lansen or Bollinger) I went in yesterday and looked - result, 2 bottles of bollinger for me and about 8 still on the shelf! So i guess it's just when the stock comes in and they are put out on display!

anyone know if any of the leeds stores have any stock? None in Kirkstall this morning apparently. thanksx
  • Just been into Morrisons in Banbury they had about 6-8 cases of Bollinger for sale, so I grabbed my quota of 3 bottles. This is also after going in there 2 times end of last week trying without success, so I thought I would give it one last go this morning. Just goes to show if you keep trying it can pay off.
Would not have bought it otherwise at £35-£36 per bottle, but at £18 for a special occassion, its worth it.
  • I managed to get some, told friends who got some whislt another friend finally struck lucky on sat am after a couple of failed attempts. all of us just bought one or two bottles. The problem is often with others who abuse these limited offers and clear the shelves. Saw people placing goods in trolley, could only buy 3 so one would buy 3 and then fairly clear they would come back and get rest someone else was holding for them. This was a good deal and popular might be nice if we could devise a system foe ensuring that some people don't take it all. I quite like the Tesco voucher sytem, if you spend so much then you can have it cheaper and there is more chance of everyone getting the offers

They certainly had stock in Leeds centre branch last week. I suspect the way it was selling that it all went within a couple of days of the offer starting.

I've just phoned the head office and they say a certain amount is allocated to each store and once it's gone, there won't be any more deliveries. I certainly won't be shopping at Morrisons now - thats the second offer they've had that i've gone specially for and they didn't have stock.
