Laser Eye Surgery

My husband has been wanting to have this corrective surgery done for a few years and the only place we have heard of doing it is theAllclear Laser Eye Clinic which charges approximately £1500 per eye. However I've just seen an advert on TV for Optical Express which is offering £600 per eye which sounds a bit cheap to me. Has anyone had any experience of this type of procedure at either clinic? Or can anyone give a recommendation.
I have 20/20 vision and really appreciate how lucky I am and don't want my husband to go somewhere which will make his sight worse just for the sake of saving a few pounds.

Hi. I had mine done just over 3 years ago and I went to the All Clear surgery. I have to say that it is the best money I have ever spent. My eyesight was -8.75 and -9.25. and I am now +.25 and -.25.
I have heard off another place in Belfast that does it but they way I looked at it no money was to much to make sure that I had the best treatment and didn't take any risks.

After taking about 2 years to convince myself to go ahead and get it done finally had lasik almost a year ago. Haven't looked back since (ha ha).
At that time knew two people who had gone to Allclear and two who had gone to the laser eye clinic, up near the King's Hall. all had had successful outcomes. I went first to the laser eye clinic (they were quoting a cheaper price) but they said that they couldn't correct my vision. They suggested I try all clear clinic.
When I went to Allclear they mentioned that they often gor more complicated cases referred from other clinics. This suggested to me that they might be slightly better equipped to deal with any complications should they arise.

For me it has been a success and the service I received at the clinic was of a high standard. The other thing that you may want to bear in mind is that we know the surgeons there are local so if something did go wrong you could get fairly immediate attention. :o

That is a fair point. I was actually given the surgeons mobile number incase of any problems out of hours. Had to ring it once at about 9pm and he rang me straight back and explained the issue to me thoroughly. Great help and saved my mum a sleepless night ................

As I said my eyesight was so bad, I don't honestly think anyone else would have touched me.
