I want an alarm clock you can see in the dark

I am fed up waking up during the night and not being able to see the time on my alarm clock. Can anyone recommend one that you can see the time without switching a light on?

Is this the sort that has the time on the ceiling? OH would hate this - he is a very light sleeper and he likes the room to be in total darkness anyway, so it needs to be something that won't disturb him when I want to know what time it is.

the projection clocks are great, if you get a red glowing one it wont light up the room, just the display on the ceiling will be illuminated.im a light sleep and need a really dark room to sleep, but this doesnt affect me at all.

I've got the Pure DAB radio alarm clock (the triangle one) and it's great - easily seen in the dark even though it dims at night. My Dad's however (another Pure one I believe) is soo bright with no adjust he's had to make a flap to go down over the illumination as it's too bright at night!

I've had cheap clock radios that are fine by night so you can spend anything from £5 - £100.

What's your budget? Does it need a radio? And would you like this to be DAB? Or CD? Do you need to set several alarms at one time? Or just one?

  • If you get a projection clock you could always angle it so it shows the time on the wall instead of the ceiling but I find mine doesn't make any difference to how the room looks in the dark.

I currently have a Roberts DAB and this dims at night, but dims too much and you can't control it.

Budget - I want a decent radio for a reasonable price but I don't have an exact budget, but yes def a radio (could be a CD player too) and DAB. I only need 1 alarm for weekdays and a different time for weekends.
